		<description>Hi Mike--

It&#039;s just the academe in me that frets over the footnotes. For a lot of that stuff, you really don&#039;t need footnotes. Re-confirmation for your own part is fine, but it doesn&#039;t have to be cast onto the page.

<description>Thanks for the MoCCA review! And hey - regarding the wikipedia footnotes... I actually considered digging into other sources just to have nicer looking footnotes, but the truth is I had the rough info in my head, and only required some re-confirmation before dedicating the words to print. Figured my time was better spent drawing the next page. Just keeping it real!

Cheers!</description>

		<description>Hi Morgan--

No SPX for me this year. We&#039;re still triangulating which cons work best for us so we&#039;re trying out a load of them this year. Thanks for the link!

		<description>Hi Caitlin, and welcome!

Socrates is a good target for frustration; it puts us in illustrious company.

I&#039;ve felt that parody was more powerful than questioning for a while now, particularly in the public sphere. When there are folks immune to the truth, shame is the only thing that will correct their behavior (if not their thinking). And these days even shame is starting to run out.

		<description>John,
I actually totally agree with you about Socrates. Plato is one of my favorites, and I think the dialectical approach to philosophy is the best one. When I made Sum of the Parts I was reading way too many books and not making anything.I blamed my lack of productivity on the fact that I was questioning everything too much and I took out my frustrations on Socrates.

I am glad I got you thinking. Your idea that parody is now more productive than questioning intrigues me.
